Like you, I have been on the wonderful, yet challenging, parenting journey. From trying for a child to being a parent, this journey can bring up old hurts, worry, sadness, loneliness, stress, chronic pain and so much more. Are you caught in the overwhelm? Do you feel confused? Or like you are losing a piece of yourself? Are you struggling with loss and grief? Maybe you are having difficulty with your parenting, marriage, work or social relationships? You are not alone. Many others have felt what you are feeling!
As a student psychotherapist, with experience and training in perinatal mental health, I have helped many to feel more confident, safe, and competent, through these life transitions. Whatever stage you are at in becoming a parent, whatever your role as a parent, whatever unique challenges you have faced or are facing, we can make sense of your journey together. I am raising four of my own little ones and the most profound thing I’ve learned so far is the unbelievable power of connection to heal.
I believe in the innate capacity we all have to grow, learn and heal, the need to “feel felt,” and be understood without judgement. I can help you work through your internal struggles. I will walk beside you as you repair the parts of you that do not feel whole. I will listen compassionately to whatever problems have brought you to me. Our focus will be on your story and your feelings. Though I may draw from a variety of counselling methods, we will always navigate based on where you are and what you need.
Education/Training: Perinatal Mental Health and Birth and Reproductive Trauma certificates (Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Trainings), Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (in progress) Bachelor of Environmental Studies
